Brian Hester holds a bachelor’s degree in Mining Geology and a Master’s in Economic Geology. He is registered as a professional engineer in Ontario. Brian has spent his entire career in the commercial mining sector with time spent equally in exploration, development and production work as well as consulting in various parts of the world in a wide range of commodities. Over his career, he has spent about six years in Africa, mostly in Tanzania where he learned Swahili, but also in west and central Africa. He supervised the initial drill programme at the Kidd Creek mine near Timmins, ON and participated in the development drilling of the Nanisivik mine in northern Baffin Island and uranium deposits in Wyoming that are now being brought to production. He is credited with recognizing the Casino Creek porphyry copper deposit in the Yukon, uranium in Labrador and with finding the Mt. Wellington tin deposit in England. Brian obtained mine production experience as assistant manager at a gold dredging operation in the Yukon and silver mining in the Cobalt-Gowganda district of Ontario. Consulting clients include The World Bank, United Nations (UNDP), Homestake Mining, Placer Dome and various private clients in Canada and the U.S.A..
